"Keith was an excellent instructor"

Just wanted to say that we had a wonderful time aboard the Sade 2 over the past week doing our Day Skipper course. Keith was an excellent instructor: he took pains to feed us, show us the ropes (literally), and make us better and safer sailors. Many thanks also to Ling, Martin and Annabelle for their comradeship and tireless assistance. It was altogether an unforgettable experience for us, and we left with invigorated spirits, tired bodies, fond memories … and a stirring yen for the sea and the sky.

"I got everything I signed up for and had a wonderful time"

All in all I thought the course was just great. Travelling one way from Langkawi to Phuket was really enjoyable as we always had some new destination to look forward to each night. The cave dive at Ko Muk was a real highlight for me. I thought Roman and Chloe we’re such a friendly couple, they provided a very relaxed learning environment, covered course content thoroughly and gave plenty of examples from their own experiences. It was a holiday for me, and having had previous sailing experience I appreciated not getting bogged down in learning to sail but rather focus on the navigation and boat handling exercises. Obviously a bit more wind would’ve been nice but know that’s out of anyone’s control.

Chloe did a fantastic job in the galley providing more than enough delicious food for even the hungriest of sailors.

I felt I got everything I signed up for and had a wonderful time in the process. Thanks again for a great course and holiday, hopefully I will see you soon for the next course.

"thank you for the part you played in my training"

I’ve been on a magical journey since last seeing you three years ago. I have all my MCA qualifications and split my time between working as an Officer on Superyachts, Charter Skipper work for a couple of company’s in Phuket, and I have my own yacht delivery business. Have done around 20 000 miles of ocean on small boats since I last saw you just about to deliver a beautiful 47 footer from Cairns up to Phuket. So career is going really well.

I guess I’m sharing this with you because I wanted to say thank you for the part you played in my training, it was really difficult for me as you may remember but I pushed on with goal in mind and am now reaping the rewards, so thank you

"a fantastic experience"

I have recently completed my RYA competent crew course for sailing through the Langkawi Sailing school on board the AEOLUS boat skippered by Simon Read, who was also our sailing instructor.

It was a fantastic experience, one that has enthused my appetite to reach my goal to become a qualified and certified skipper/sailor.

Sailing has earned my respect, during the Raja Muda Race from Port Klang to Langkawi I got to see and experience first-hand the skill, knowledge and experience required to sail out in the open seas. As a skipper you have total responsibility for the safety of the crew and the boat, very similar to a CEO role in running a company – you need to be a very good leader, intimately know well your boat, experienced and able to communicate clear instructions to your crew in a timely, calm and decisive manner.

I enjoyed so much sailing onboard AEOLUS, it is a great way to start 2017 alongside our 10-Year anniversary.

"a big strength of Langkawi Sailing School are the instructors"

I would like to pass on my feedback on last week 19 -25 March having now completed my Practical Day Skippers course.

Steve our instructor was excellent in managing and building us all into a very capable cohesive team to sail for the week.
His tremendous energy to transfer all his knowledge, skills, communications, patience and always calm and in control was for me as good as it gets. An excellent instructor, both my experiences with Steve and Simon have been 1st Class.

The food is good, though it would be good to have a lot more fruit onboard - apples, oranges, etc to replenish the fluids, other than the water .
I think a big strength of Langkawi Sailing School are the instructors you have - the standard is very high .
The location Langkawi is also very good, great location to learn to sail .

Thank you -

"the best instructor I've been privileged to meet"

Thank you for the last 4 months. The experience has been truly fulfilling. Having arrived back in the UK, I’ve found myself to be itching to go sailing again. I will be searching in all areas for an opportunity to continue building experience. You are not only the best instructor I’ve been privileged to meet….I’ll put you up there with one of the best teachers.

"thanks for an incredible week"

I just want to write a quick note of thanks for an incredible week on Sade 2 with your school for my competent crewman course and I’m sorry we didn’t get a chance to talk afterwards. It was an experience like no other and I definitely plan on continuing with Langkawi Sailing School when I have some more vacation time next year. I dipped my toe in the water so to speak and found something I absolutely love doing! Please pass on my thanks to Keith as well for being a great instructor.

"I would highly recommend Langkawi sailing school"

The last 16 weeks of sailing and studying have truly been the time of my life. I have always known I wanted to spend my life sailing and working on the ocean. Langkawi sailing school taught me the skills and knowledge to begin. All the instructors genuinely care about their students and go above and beyond. Everyone welcomed me not only as a student but as part of their family. I would highly recommend Langkawi sailing school to anyone. Thank you so much!!!!!

"very proud have passed my yachtmaster! Huge thanks to Instructors"

After 16 weeks of hard graft, too many beautiful beaches, Islands, sunrises and sunsets to mention, 5 exams and 2,700 miles, I am very, very proud have passed my yachtmaster! Huge thanks to Instructors Barry Wickett, Chris Thorp, Keith Hunter, Lang Miller and Simon Read for all the tuition, help and support, and to Murre Gonday, Johnny Juarez and Eugene! Wouldn’t have been the same without u guys! So happy right now!!

"Langkawi Sailing School is a life changing experience"

The 16 weeks with the Langkawi Sailing School is a life changing experience.

Arriving in Telaga Harbour, you just don’t know what to expect but as soon as the training begins, you feel something growing in you.

You go under the wings of highly competent instructors that trains you in the way of sailing and shows you the dynamics of the elements.

The scenery is astonishing, the culture in SE Asia is wonderful and all the people easygoing.

I would recommend anyone who is looking for a sailing experience to give it a go.

It doesn’t matter if you are looking for a holiday or to educate yourself in sailing.

I personally went for the fasttrack program and had an amazing experience.

Meeting new people, making and sharing stories and voyaging to where the wind takes us.

My time with the Langkawi Sailing School is something I will never forget, in a way I would say that it changes you in a good and positive way.

I guess we are all sailors in within, you just got to make it be apart of you and that is something that grows inside of you as soon as you step into the school!
