Day
Two
Breakfast is followed by a
Safety Briefing. This will introduce you to the Yachts
Safety Equipment, where it is, what it's for and how to
use it. This will normally be carried out by one of our
trainee Skippers familiar with the boat. Instructor clears
our Customs and Immigration. Then it's prep for sea and
the voyage ahead. Once the Yacht and Crew are ready it's
time for your first challenge, getting out from the dock.
Your Instructor will explain the "ropes" and
then give everyone a chance to practice coming in and
out of the Marina. We call this "Bumps and Grinds".
Then its "Off on another Adventure". We set
sail for our first set of Tropical Islands. On Route the
Instructor will explain how to put the sails up and how
they work. Practice Tacking, Gybing, steering, plotting
our position and keeping lookout. Who will be first to
spot our destination on the horizon? Then it's all hands
on deck to prepare for our arrival. The Skipper will prepare
the Pilotage; decide when to lower the sails and where
to moor. Anchor down, Boat put to bed, and off in the
dinghy to explore, and sample the delights of our first
Thai Island Paradise. (Ko Lipe)
